These pieces are from Mauritania, on the west coast of Africa. This style
of pendant is called boghdad. Each is different but the common style is
using incised lines and soldered beads. The middle pendant has lost the
soldered beads on the left corner. There is a wonderful patina of age on
each of these pendants.
The tops are hollow like tubes,so these are great to use as pendants. You
can simply slip your cords through the top tube.
